Specialty Coffee Roasters in London N1
Our Story
High Note Roasters is a London-based specialty coffee roastery founded by George and Arina in 2024. We source rare, floral-forward coffee beans from Ethiopia, China, Peru, Colombia, and Costa Rica, and roast them in micro-batches of under 10 kg at our N1 London roastery.
Our focus is singular: coffees with intensely floral profiles, tea-like clarity, and the kind of delicate complexity that makes you pause mid-sip. We specialise in the Gesha varietal — widely regarded as the most extraordinary coffee on earth — alongside other rare cultivars that share its character.
What We Do
- Source rare lots: We work directly with farms and importers to secure limited micro-lots of Gesha, Sidra, and other rare varietals from Ethiopia, Yunnan (China), Peru, Colombia, and Costa Rica.
- Micro-batch roast: Every batch is under 10 kg, roasted at our N1 London roastery. Smaller batches mean tighter temperature control, fewer defects, and more faithful expression of each bean's origin character.
- Ship worldwide: We roast to order and dispatch directly from London. We accept Visa, Mastercard, PayPal, Apple Pay, and Google Pay.
Why Gesha?
Gesha (also spelled Geisha) is an Ethiopian landrace varietal first collected from the Gori Gesha forest in southwestern Ethiopia in the 1930s. It produces roughly half the yield of conventional coffee varieties, but the cup quality is extraordinary — jasmine, bergamot, stone fruit, and honeysuckle with a tea-like body.
In August 2025, a single 20 kg lot of washed Gesha from Hacienda La Esmeralda in Panama sold at auction for US$30,204 per kilogram — the highest price ever paid for green coffee. At High Note, we believe these flavours shouldn't be reserved for auction buyers. We source exceptional Gesha lots and make them accessible to home brewers worldwide.
